ABOUT
Grace Bland is an 19-year-old Singer-Songwriter who has a passion for writing and performing Indie Pop music influenced by the styles of Indie Rock and Folk-Pop. Her musical influences include artists such as Lana Del Ray, Maisie Peters, Gabrielle Aplin and Girl In Red. She began writing original music at the age of eleven and has since performed in numerous locations around the UK.
Competing in the Grand Final of the Open Mic UK competition at the O2 in London in February 2020, Grace was described as ‘a star in the making’ by the panel of industry judges. She was praised for her ‘bags of songwriting ability’ and ‘authentic’ performance. Grace’s three singles ‘Pity Parties, ‘Human’ and 'She Kinda Looks Like Me' were met with warm receptions. All three were featured on BBC Introducing and named Homegrown Hits by Voice FM. Human (released on 27th July 2020) was an instant favourite with Spotify’s editors and radio stations alike. The song featured on the editorial playlists New Pop UK and Fresh Finds: Pop, which showcases the best new talent in Pop. Human also featured on the personalised editorial playlist ‘Easy’ which has a massive following of over 380,000 listeners and showcased Grace's track alongside artists such as Billie Eilish, Taylor Swift and Bon Iver. Since it's release in July, Human has accumulated over 20,000 streams on Spotify and has gained significant radio interest from stations across the South of England with BBC Introducing Radio Solent naming Bland’s track Human a Record of the Week. Since the release of her third single, 'She Kinda Looks Like Me', Grace has quickly been making a name for herself. Being described by Mercury Magazine as 'Britain's answer to Billie Eilish - but with prettier vocals', Grace's gig at Moles (Bath, Somerset) in December 2020 sold out in under 12 hours.
